Sustainability as a strategic reputation issue

Laws, expectations, opportunities

On 22 March 2023, the European Commission published a “Proposal for a Green Claims Directive”.

The Commission is targeting voluntary advertising claims and eco-labels (e.g. certifications) that portray products as more environmentally friendly than they actually are, but which are not or hardly supported by evidence.

Contents of the seminar:

  • Compressed overview of the current framework conditions and opportunities for strategy and communication around supply chain sustainability
  • Current and planned directives and laws around supply chain and sustainability in Germany and the EU
  • Options for action to avoid risks and maximise opportunities
  • The tightrope walk between greenwashing and greenhushing. How can communication on ESG and sustainability issues be made safe, transparent and effective?
