Sustainability
Social and ecological standards
Consumers today demand a highly modern, health-, ecologically- and socially-friendly manifactured product, which at the same time should still be affordable. These aspects and frequent changes in legal regulations and requirements pose strategic and financial challenges for companies as regards to sustainable production processes.
Since 1990 DTB work-group projects have been addressing various aspects of sustainability in the textile and fashion industry. In this way the DTB can offer its members and partners valuable know-how on sustainability issues.
Also since the beginning of the 1990’s, the DTB annually hosts the well-established work-group „Eco-Info“. In this context, the „Eco-Info“ form which, allows enquiring human-ecological criteria of fabric, ingredients, leather and finished products directly from the supplier, was developed. The included threshold values, parameters and legal basis are regularly updated by the DTB. The form can be purchased as a license directly from the DTB.
