Munich, 16.12.2022 \u2013 Megatrend 3D. Simulating garments in 3D makes collection development more sustainable and cost-efficient. To actually save material and emissions throughout the supply chain, the digital product must be production-ready and networked directly into production. At the Assyst Experience, fashion tech market leader Assyst and its partners will bring this to life. In close cooperation with Munich Fabric Start, they show how production-ready quality is created from the very first draft and what the direct interaction of all systems along the supply chain achieves. Creative and technical developers learn about the technical possibilities that exist today and how they can be used effectively in their own companies. <\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Avoiding errors in product development through production-ready 3D designs <\/strong><\/h4>\n

3D design facilitates product development because visual coordination can take place anytime and anywhere. However, since every 3D design is based on a CAD cut, just like a physical garment, the quality of the cut influences the sustainability and cost savings in the digital process. If the bound pattern is not ready for production, production elements such as seam allowances or dividing seams must be added afterwards. This often changes the development process and despite 3D design, physical samples have to be produced. Different, the correct digital fitting with Assyst based on production-ready patterns: Here, a great many physical samples can be avoided throughout product development. This saves time, money and resources for everyone involved.<\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

Only buy as much material as is needed<\/strong><\/h4>\n

If all systems and thus also the data along the supply chain are continuously integrated, this has a significant impact: Instead of painstakingly optimising material consumption and costs in production, these costs can be avoided right from the start. This ensures the sustainability and profitability of the products directly in the first design draft. After all, sustainability does not only mean using less material in production, but saving it from the outset. By networking all downstream systems with 3D, material consumption can be calculated from the very first design. Only as much fabric is bought (and ideally produced) as is later consumed in production.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Assyst Digital Loop in practice<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The starting point for this sustainable and profitable development is the realistic simulation of clothing with 3D-Vidya, Assyst’s 3D design tool, the latest version of which, 3D-Vidya 20.22, is being launched at Assyst Experience. In 3D, numerous model, fabric and colour variations can be created virtually and with an optimal fit using realistic models and production-ready patterns. The lifelike designs can be used directly in the e-commerce store and in retailer showrooms. Thanks to the connection to marker-making and order optimisation, the corresponding material costs can already be calculated on the basis of the 3D models – the resources required for production can be foreseen even before the first web of fabric is woven. In this way, the sustainability and cost aspects remain equally in focus at every point of product development.<\/p>\n
